Despite a late scare against Celta Vigo in last night’s Europa League Semi Final, Manchester United are through to their 7th European Final, their first in the Europa League ( Formerly UEFA Cup)
Mouranne Felaini had given United a 17th minute lead, but late drama was to ensue. United had other chances to put the game to bed, but Celta also created opportunities and an 85th minute equalizer from Racundo Roncaglia set up a grandstand finish. 2 minutes later Eric Baily and Roncaglia both saw red after a mass brawl. However, United hung on to draw on the night and so go through 2-1 on aggregate following the red devils 1-0 victory in Spain last well.
The final takes place on May 24th at The Friends Arena in Stockholm and United’s opponents will be Ajax who despite a 3-1 defeat to Lyon last night, advanced 5-4 on aggregate following a comfortable home leg victory last week.
