Chelsea Treble Goes Largely Unnoticed

Hours before Michy Batshuayi’s goal  secured Chelsea another Premier League crown.. In the shadow of the first team, down at the club’s Cobham training ground, another story was unfolding.

‘So what?’ You might say. Well the Youth team were entertaining Reading. ‘Yeah and?’ Well, having secured the Southern Section of The Development league title and having recently tasted victory in The FA Youth Cup… The youngsters led by former star Jody Morris, were on the brink of winning the National Professional Development League title. Needing a victory to secure the crown a tense afternoon lay ahead. The pressure being felt by the young men wasn”t helped by the teams going in 0-0 at the break. However the pressure was soon dispelled as 2nd half goals from Conor Gallagher, Harvey St Clair and Mason Mount secured a 3-0 victory and an historic treble for the blues of the future had been recorded. A triumph that is welcomed by all fans. Maybe, just maybe… The future is blue!
